On August 27, 2020 Mead Road in the Town of Florida, off State Highway 5S was dedicated to two gentlemen who served their Town and County for many years in different capacities.

James Mead was a lifelong resident of the area, and along with his son Ronald Mead operated the Floridale Farm on Mead Road until his retirement in 1998. James was Town of Florida Justice from 1957-1969; Town of Florida Supervisor from 1969-1977. James was also a member of multiple committees and boards in Montgomery County: Farm Bureau, Town of Florida Grange, Amsterdam Masonic Lodge #84 F&AM, GLF(Agway), Director of Milk Producers Co-op, Fulmont Economic Development Agency, Iroquois Seniors & on the Advisory Board of the State Bank of Albany.

Ronald Mead was a lifelong resident of the Town of Florida who served his Town and the surrounding area over many years. He was a partner in the running of Floridale Farms with his father James Mead beginning in 1972. He was an active member of Young Farmers, Masonic Lodge, Farm Bureau, President of the Board of Directors for Farm Credit, served on the Board of the Florida Reformed Church and the Town of Florida Snowmobile Club. In 1994 he was elected Town Supervisor for the Town of Florida and served in that capacity until 2001. He was then appointed to a position with NYS Division of Ag & Markets which he held until his death in June of 2014.
